Coun. Mark Taylor has kept his promise to not run again, and that leaves this ward wide open. Taylor, first elected in 2010, had promised to only stay on as a councillor for two terms. “I made that commitment to run for two terms as councillor, and I intend to keep that,” Taylor said.

There are five candidates vying for the seat at the councillor table:

Erica Dath
Don Dransfield
Theresa Kavanagh
Marc Lugert
Trevor Robinson, who ran in 2014 and came in fourth.

Bay ward is diverse with a mix of incomes, and development is shaping up to be a big issue as older communities are revitalized.
